Voyager Tarot

Let,s talk about Voyager Tarot and how it relates to creativity and drawing. Briefly, the Tarot is an old system of knowledge and secrets that are depicted in a set of cards, 78 to be specific. Over the years the tarot developed a reputation, for fortune telling and prediction. My belief about prediction, however is, that the best way to predict the future is to create it. Voyager brings the tarot out of that old superstitious belief system and into the 21st century of creativity, personal empowerment and transformation. Voyager Tarot is a set of 78 cards each full of rich symbolism depicting our own inner universe, and psyche. Voyager can be the vehicle to help you create the future you desire. Voyager can also be your personal coach and guide into the world of creativity and the world of drawing. Through techniques like meditation, questions and picking cards you can create new drawings, and transform your own creativity and drawing process.

Accept The Mystery, Draw Like The Fool

A lot of people ask me, just how does the Tarot work, they say what's the theory behind it? My answer frankly is, I don't have a clue, but I do know that it works. The Tarot is a mystery, a great mystery in fact, but if you accept the mystery, WOW great things can happen. So much of life is a mystery though, for example how does your body maintain its 98.6 tempreture, how do we draw in fact, no one really knows, but if we accept the mystery, then magical things can happen. Mystery is powerful and being able to accept the mystery is just as powerful. Talking about accepting mystery the card that comes to mind in Voyager is the Fool Child. The fool is linked to mystery and spirit. The fool trusts that great mystery called spirit and as a result is a risk taker, no risk, no reward, little risk little reward, big risk big reward. So learn the lesson of the fool in life as well as drawing is, accept the mystery, trust the process and become a risk taker.

Draw Like The Magician

Know Your Truth, Draw Like The Priestess

What's the relationship to drawing and the tarot you might ask? Well the tarot is connected to drawing firstly because it is drawing, each card is a drawing itself, in Voyager's case a collage that represents a particular archetype or attribute. Drawing is about energy, the visible movement of energy through mark making, tarot is about the visual representation of a particular energy. So when we look at and focus on a paticular card we are attemting to connect to that card's particular energy and meaning. Once connected to that card we can express that energy through drawing. For example let's pick the Priestess card. The Priestess card is about wisdom and knowing the inner truth. As the Priestess you can go to the depths of your being and know and speak your own inner truth, who you really are. Now how might we translate our truth into drawing? Draw like you mean it. As the Priestess you know who are and you express it confidently. The Priestess is not afraid of making mistakes. So draw like you mean it.
